Fatigue Management For Road Freight Workshop

A panel will analyse a hypothetical heavy truck incident that has resulted in a serious workplace injury to a worker. The incident is being investigated by Workplace Health and Safety Queensland (WHSQ) with the assistance of Queensland Police and Queensland Transport. Additional members of the panel include the employer, truck driver, injured worker, WHSQ investigator and a medical specialist.
The discussions will focus on the legal obligations employers face regarding work related road safety as well as the various options and outcomes involving the employer, worker and the regulators.
The workshop is designed to be based around 'real events' and will be thought provoking and allow both the panel and audience to draw parallels between the 'hypothetical' scenario presented and their own work environment within the road freight transport industry.
